About
Driving La Carrera is a documentary production company dedicated to stories of vintage racing, global adventure, and the culture that connects them.
Bringing new audiences into the world of vintage racing.
Specializing in short documentaries and documentary series, we explore the passion, risk, and human stories at the heart of vintage racing. Our focus is on making this world accessible to new audiences through relatable characters and dramatic, high-adventure storytelling.
We expand each story beyond the race itselfβcelebrating the people, landscapes, food, and culture that define global travel. Working with distributors and streamers, we aim to share these authentic experiences with audiences far beyond the automotive community.
Expanding our storytelling into long-form documentary series
With The Rally Brothers β MΓ©xico, our first project for broadcast, we join Chris and Jeff Mason on an authentic, insiderβs journey across MΓ©xicoβdemonstrating the depth, scale, and ambition that define our move into long-form storytelling.
Where racing experience meets world-class documentary craft
Rooted in both filmmaking and firsthand experience in the world of vintage racing, our team brings together six years of collaboration across MΓ©xico, the United States, Canada, and Italy to produce dynamic, character-driven stories.
Weβve both covered and raced in some of the worldβs most storied eventsβincluding La Carrera Panamericana, the Mille Miglia, and the Targa Newfoundlandβdrawing on our global presence in New York, MΓ©xico City, and Venice to craft media with scale, authenticity, and emotional depth.

The Rally Brothers
Chris and Jeff Masonβthe Rally Brothersβgrew up in New Jersey as close as two brothers could be. When life pulled them thousands of miles apart, vintage racing became their way to stay connected and continue sharing adventures together. In 2019, filmmaker Julian Castillo joined the team, quickly becoming the βthird Rally Brother from another mother.β
The Mzcalero
The Rally Brothersβ primary rally car is a 1965 Volvo Amazon 122S built especially for the Carrera Panamericana.
It competes in the Historic A+ class and runs a 2.0 liter Volvo B20 engine. The Mzcalero produces 185 bph with a top speed of 140 mph. Itβs a fast, strong, beautiful rally car that draws attention wherever it goes.
